  • Decorated 6498: Geneva stripes, blued screws, engraved bridges. Highest tier.

Beat rate is the fastest check. A 6497 at 21,600 vph steps 5 times per second. A 2824 at 28,800 vph steps 8 times per second. Ask the seller for a timegrapher reading or record the second hand on video.

Case and dial checks

  • Case metal: 316L steel on most units, 904L on a few. Both scratch.
  • Thickness: replicas run 1 mm to 2 mm thicker than the genuine case.
  • Crystal: sapphire with anti-reflective coating on one or both faces. Mineral glass shows up in low tiers and scratches.
